In Ancient Egyptian mythology, Bastet is the cat headed goddess. She is believed to be the transformed form of the once-destructive war goddess Sekhmet. When Sekhmet began to destroy the world in a fit of uncontrollable rage, the gods stopped her by tricking her into drinking a red-colored liquid that resembled blood. As she drank, her fury faded, and over time it softened into balance. Thus, Bastet was born not by losing her power, but by learning to master it.

She is a protector, watching over those she loves. She embodies a feminine energy that appears gentle, yet is never weak. She is a hunter, striking when the moment calls for it.
